Maxdome – Max dome to Be Acquired by Joyn
If you are a fan of film and television, you will surely enjoy maxdome. Founded in 2004, the company is one of the largest online videotheks in Germany, and boasts over 50000 films in SD and HD quality. You can watch your favourite movies, series, children’s programming, and documentaries with this great video on demand service. Currently, maxdome is only available for German internet users, so if you live outside the country, it won’t work properly. You can use a Smart DNS or Unlocator VPN to unblock maxdome and enjoy the service from your PC, laptop, or mobile device.
While the new owners aren’t likely to make a lot of changes to the content available on their platform, they will be able to continue running the video on demand service with the existing brand. However, the biggest news for Maxdome users is that the company is acquiring the video on demand business of the German Freenet Group, which operates the VOD portal Freenet Video. However, ProSiebenSat.1 and Discovery had planned to merge maxdome with Joyn, but both companies decided to stop the project.
The company’s first production is an adaptation of the Danish comedy “Klovn”. It depicts everyday life in a realistic but satirical manner. The series won the German Comedy Award in 2017. Christian Ulmen gave his acting debut in the comedy series. The show was shot in Potsdam in September 2016, and will now be sold as a Joyn Original. The company also has several other projects in development, including a series of animated shorts called “Stories”.
The MaxDome II includes a computerized system for the dome’s shutter operation and dome rotation. Both the shutter and dome rotation can be controlled remotely with the MaxDome software. In addition, the software allows the shutter aperture to be slaved to the position of the telescope. If you do not have a dedicated controller, you can also use an external relay to control them. You can also purchase a MaxDome II controller for your observatory.
German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 plans to shut down maxdome at the end of 2020, so if you want to continue your subscription, you have to do it now. The service will eventually replace Maxdome with a new joint venture called Joyn. You can still use your Maxdome login to buy films directly through Joyn. There’s no guarantee that Maxdome subscribers will be migrated to Joyn, but the company wants to make it as profitable as possible.
